Become a Light for the World

Who are the lights of the world? Those so filled with God, nothing the world offers can tempt them. They shine like stars, and everywhere they go, peace goes with them. Or so says Edward Weiss, author of The Golden Prayer. For Weiss, this means loving God more than the world. A simple proposition, but one many find hard to do, especially later in life. Edward comments

"We all want to feel the love of God, but most of us have been conditioned to pursue the world first, God second or not at all. Here is the problem. The Golden Prayer works to correct this problem. As we pray it, we necessarily put God first. The more we do it, the more our vision corrects until one day we awake, and it is not us that is living our life, but God who is living His life through us.

According to Weiss, by using this 'golden prayer,' we can start to enjoy the peace we desire...

"Our whole lives, we've been trained to put the world first. To be happy in the world. This is the cardinal error as we can never truly be free in the world. We need to know God to be free. More than that, we need to put Him first. Here is the path that leads to peace and freedom. But the path is not easy. This is where prayer comes to the rescue! The more we pray, the more we bring God to mind, the more peace we will have in our lives."

Ancient Jewish Wisdom Comes to Life

God is always calling to us.  Can you hear it? It is saying … ‘I AM.’  This is  the call of eternity . A call where, all that is necessary is for us to hear it. And if you hear it, you will tremble with the holy knowledge of God. This is why to know is to love. Without this knowledge you end up with privation of knowledge, of thinking  you  are God; the cardinal sin or ignorance. God is always calling to us.  Mostly, this call falls upon deaf ears as we go about our lives, striving to be happy in the world. We try this thing and that, with the hope it will bring permanent satisfaction. Soon, we discover the sad truth; the world only satisfies  in part .  We hear the call of the world   instead of God's voice and are taken over; until we start to wake up.  This is the true awakening, where our slumbering souls cry out for the fountain of life. A marker that the   real journey has begun. The journey to hear the voice of God. God is always calling to us, and once you hear,  everything
